YEREVAN, January 23. / ARKA /. ArmenTel telecom provider (trading as Beeline) has introduced a new series of six digit numbers for fixed telephony - 60- XX-XX - available so far to residents of Nork-Marash and Kentron districts of Yerevan.
Andrei Pyatakhin, Armentel CEO, said in a press release that introduction of the new series was prompted by the growing demand for fixed telephony and Internet in downtown Yerevan.
“This will significantly expand the technical capabilities of our company and make simple and convenient services available to a greater number of Internet users, as well as private and corporate clients,” he was quoted as saying.
At the end of 2013 ArmenTel celebrated one century of fixed telephony in Yerevan. The level of digitalization in the country exceeds 86%. The cost of connecting to new fixed telephone service is 2400 drams.
ArmenTel is owned fully by Russian VimpelCom Ltd. It provides fixed and mobile telephony as well as high speed Internet access throughout the country. -0-
