YEREVAN, February 14. / ARKA /. Around $1.9 billion were remitted to Armenia in 2013 by individuals through banks for non-commercial purposes, the Central Bank of Armenia said.
Also $324.2 million were remitted from Armenia to other countries by individuals last year via banks, up from $292.2 million in 2012. The net cash inflow amounted to about $1.545.6 billion against $1.395 billion in the previous year.
The bulk of remittances- around 86 percent or $1.606.6 billion-- came as a rule from Russia, up from $1.444.9 billion in the previous year. Remittances from Armenia to Russia grew to $180.35 million from $164.6 million in 2012.
Some $182 million were remitted from the United States of America, $17 million were remitted from Ukraine, $23.7 million from Kazakhstan, $15.6 million from Germany, $6.4 million from Spain, $14.7 from France, $7.7 million from the United Arab Emirates, about $ 1.4 million from China, $1.8 million from China and $92.6 million from other countries. -0-
