YEREVAN, November 1. / ARKA /. According to preliminary estimates, the average gross monthly salary in Armenia in September 2013 amounted to 150,130 drams (an equivalent of $370 or 12,001 Russian rubles), 0.3% lower than in August, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS).
In August the average gross wage was 150,538 drams, which was 4.5 % lower than in July and 5.7 % more than in August 2012.
The highest average monthly salary in August - more than 198,450 drams- was reported by the southern Syunik region, home to several large mining enterprises. The lowest was in Aragatsotn region - about 102,710 drams. In Yerevan, the average nominal wage in August was more than 164,697 drams.
In August, the highest salaries were boasted by information and communication sectors- 347,300 drams, financial institutions- about 347,270 drams and mining industry - about 327,250 drams.
The lowest paid workers worked for culture, entertainment and recreation services – 87,500 drams, agriculture, forestry and fishing – 96,400 drams and education - 99,900 drams ($ 1 - 405.03 drams) . -0-
