Average monthly nominal salary in Armenia rises 0.4% to AMD 120,116 in September

YEREVAN, November 1. /ARKA/. The average monthly nominal salary in Armenia reached 120,116 drams ($294 or 9,254 Russian rubles) in September 2012 – 0.4% rise, compared with the previous month and 5.3% increase, compared with September 2011, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports. 

According to the statistical report, the average nominal salary amounted to 119,583 drams in August – 5.3% lower than in August 2011. 
The highest average salary in August 2012 was in Syunik province – more than 149,600 drams, and the lowest in Aragatsotn province – 82,800 drams. 

In Yerevan, it amounted to more than 130,800 in August 2012.

Employers of finance and insurance sectors had highest wages in August 2012 – over 313,600 drams. Those of mining industry had over 260,600 drams. Information and communication sector’s employees had an average salary of over 250,100, and electricity, natural gas and steam distributing sector’s workers about 159,100 drams. Construction segment’s average salary exceeded AMD 151,800 drams and state administration segment’s 135,700 drams. 

The lowest-paid workers were culture and rest sectors’ employees - their average salary was slightly higher than 67,000 drams. The services sector’s average salary amounted to 74,000 drams, education sector’s was slightly higher than 77,900 drams and agriculture and forestry sectors’ 89,500 drams. ($1 – 405.52 drams). -0-
