Bread cost not to change in Karabakh till 2013 harvest, PM says
STEPANAKERT, January 11. /ARKA/. Bread cost in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) will not change till the new harvest of 2013, Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan said at the government session yesterday.
The ban on the grain export will not be removed, on the contrary—this ban will be effective even after the harvest of 2013 for the republic’s food security reasons, he clarified.
“Within the next few months, we will import grain from Armash (Ararat region) in accordance with the agreement. We will be able to maintain the same grain cost till the new harvest,” Harutyunyan said.
The analogical restrictions will be maintained in 2013-2014 if there are some issues with grain and flour.
One kg of grain costs minimal of 150 drams in the NKR, one sack of flour of the best quality—11,700 drams, bread—110 drams. ($1 – 407.47 drams). -0-
