Chamber of Commerce and Industry may be created in Artsakh this year
YEREVAN, June 9. /ARKA/. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry may be created in Artsakh in 2014, head of Armenia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Martin Sargsyan told reporters Saturday.
An agreement about cooperation was signed between Armenia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Artsakh Investment Fund, Sargsyan said after the conference “Customs Union: Armenia – cooperation”. of.
The plan is to set up a joint database of business projects together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, to help businessmen and Artsakh Investment Fund take the advantage of all business proposals and implement joint projects in the framework of Armenia’s membership in the Customs Union, he said.
This means Karabakh-made goods will find access to CU-member countries when Armenia joins the CU, Sargsyan said.
The functions of Artsakh Chamber of Commerce and Industry will include issuance of certificates of origin, but for this the Chamber will have to sign an agreement with other countries on validity of such certificates, Sargsyan said. If this certificate is available, export duties will be reduced by up to 20%.
Karabakh minister of economy and finance Grigory Martirosyan, in his turn, said exporting Karabakh-made goods to CU-member countries may encounter problems. Yet, he expressed hopes numerous meetings with involved parties will help avoid problems.
Armenia and Karabakh are in the same economic area; there is no customs border between them and there can’t be any, Martirosyan said. –0--
