CIS rail transport council for youth to meet in Yerevan next year

YEREVAN, July 10. /ARKA/. The next meeting of CIS Rail Transport Council for youth affairs will be held in Yerevan in the second quarter of 2013, South Caucasian Railway (SCR) company reported ARKA on Tuesday.

The decision was reached at the working session held in Moscow on July 6. SCR was said to be present at the session.

Particularly, SCR was represented by Youth Council Chairman Vahe Davtyan. Railway administration delegations of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Russian Federation, Estonia, as well as members of Directorate of CIS Rail Transport Council, International Confederation of Railway Workers' and Transport Builders' Unions were also present at the session of the working group. 

The session participants outlined the results of the last year, discussed the plan of joint activities for 2012-2013 and methods of youth involvement into scientific and innovative research projects. The countries attached great importance to forming building groups that could be involved into constructing infrastructural objects for 2014 Olympic games in Sochi.

Over 2800 students, including 250 students from CIS and Baltic states, are involved into Olympic objects construction carried out by Russian Railway since 2009. Representatives of these countries increased from 2% in 2010 to 22% in 2012. The states also highlighted the necessity to further enhance the community of young railwaymen of “1520 space” by stepping up the current efficient cooperation formats. 

The session participants prioritized such issues as activization of information experience exchange between the railway administrations, formation of the single communication space, and implementation of the joint programs and activities in youth exchange and sport.—0--
