Cost of compulsory vehicle insurance may rise
YEREVAN, September 11. /ARKA/. The chief executive of Ingo Armenia insurance company, Levon Altunian, said today buying compulsory vehicle insurance may become more expensive.
Now an annual insurance cost ranges from 19,000 to 106,000 drams, depending on a set of factors like the age of the driver, his or her driving record, the engine capacity and so on. The largest possible amount of compensation is 3 million drams for a person injured in a traffic accident and the largest amount for a damaged car is 1.5 million drams.
Mr. Altunian said also the number of social and public servants eligible to package of social benefits introduced by the government this year may increase from current 132,000 top 232,000.
Now the package does not apply to employees with less than six months record, to reserve employees, those working half time as well as several categories of senior public servants. -0-
