Economic activity in Armenia shows 4% year-on-year growth in Jan-May 2014

YEREVAN, June 20. /ARKA/. Economic activity in Armenia rose 4% in Jan-May 2014, compared with the same period a year before, the National Statistical Service reports. 

Consumer prices grew 4.4% and manufacturers’ prices rose 7.9% in Armenia in Jan-May 2014, compared with the same period a year earlier.  

Industrial enterprises released products worth AMD 471.7 billion over the first five months of this year – 0.2% year-on-year growth.  

The country’s Jan-May 2014 agricultural output amounted to AMD 160.7 billion (5.4% year-on-year growth), the construction carried out over the mentioned period cost AMD 90.8 billion (0.5% growth), domestic trade turnover amounted to AMD 812.5 billion (5.1% growth) and services totaled AMD 404.2 billion (3.1% growth). 

Armenia’s foreign trade amounted to about $2 278.9 million in Jan-May 2014 showing 2.3% year-on-year growth. 

In the 2014 government budget, GDP growth is projected at 5.2%. ($1 – AMD 409.9). ---0---
