Economic activity rises 6.2% in Armenia in Jan-Feb 2017

YEREVAN, March 20. /ARKA/. Armenia’s economic activity index rose 6.2 percent in January and February 2017, compared with the same period a year before, the National Statistical Service reports. 

The increase was ensured by four segments – industry, agriculture output, trade and services. 

Industrial products worth AMD 228.4 billion have been produced over the first two months of this year - . 
16.1% year-on-year growth.

The country’s agriculture output grew 0.1% to AMD 40.4 billion, services 11.1% to AMD 194.2 billion and domestic trade turnover 9.6% to AMD 292.2 billion. 

Construction accounted for 13.8% decline to AMD 17.1 billion.

According to the statistical report, a year-on-year deflation was recorded at 0.4% in Jan-Feb 2017.  

Armenia’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $761 million in Jan-Feb 2017 showing a 22.2% year-on-year growth. 

In the government budget for 2017, GDP growth is projected at 3.2%. ($1 – AMD 483.51). --0--
