Eliminating black economy will guarantee development in Armenia, leader of “Heritage” says

YEREVAN, December 24. /ARKA/. Removing black economy will guarantee development and prosperity in Armenia, said leader of Armenian opposition “Heritage” party Raffi Hovhannisyan who submitted a self-nomination application to run for president Saturday.

If illegal income is taxed, ordinary citizens will have more money in their pockets – not because of election alms, but because of increased salaries, pensions and allowances, Hovhannisian said at the “Heritage” party congress Saturday.

According to Hovhannisian, drastic measures against underground economy will also help overcome inexcusable dependence on international borrowing.
After that, if support is provided to small and medium businesses, the country’s budget and the economy will become complete, everyone will get equal opportunities and will obey the law, be it president, officials, members of parliament or policemen, Hovhannisian said.

Armenian presidential elections are scheduled for February 18, 2013. Presidential nominations will start on December 25 and will end on January 4. Nominees will be registered between January 4 and January 14. The election campaign is to start from January 21 and to continue till February 16, 24:00.
The current president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan is the favorite. The Republican Party of Armenia nominated Sargsyan at its congress on December 15.
Sargsyan’s campaign slogan will be “Towards secure Armenia”. –0--
