YEREVAN, March 28. /ARKA/. EU’s financial assistance to Armenia amounted to about 35-40 million euros in 2013, head of EU delegation to Armenia Traian Hristea said.
These are rough figures as some items are still in implementation stage, he said. Final figures will be announced after the final conclusion is received, Hristea told ARKA.
The assistance mainly aimed at state programs through tools of direct budget support. There were also projects on civil society.
As to EU’s financial assistance to Armenia in 2014, the assistance package is still under consideration, the ambassador said.
The EU needs to discuss with Armenian authorities how the issues already agreed upon will be implemented and how it will go with Armenia’s new obligations, Hristea said.
The head of the delegation said no substantial reduction in assistance is expected. –0--
