Federal Reserve System officials hold seminar in Yerevan
YEREVAN, September 3. /ARKA/. A five-day regional workshop on "monitoring, based on risks and risk assessment", organized by the Central Bank of Armenia jointly with the U.S. Federal Reserve System, was launched on Monday in Yerevan.
During the workshop, officials of the Federal Reserve, Robert Walker and Craik Frasat will consult on global financial and economic crisis-related issues and its lessons, a risk-based control, credits, operational and aggregate risks.
This topic is relevant for both Armenia and other countries. A special attention is being given now to risks managements, as after the crisis serious problems were revealed in many countries", a member of the Board of the Central Bank of Armenia, Vakhtang Abrahamyan, said.
According to him, such events allow professionals to keep abreast with the latest international developments, as well as exchange experience in this field. The seminar is being attended by over 30 experts from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Serbia, Latvia, Poland, Lebanon, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Armenia. -0-
