YEREVAN, December 12. / ARKA /. A deputy Armenian minister of agriculture Armen Harutyunyan said today that five new slaughterhouses will be built in 2014 in Kotayk, Aragatsotn and Vayots Dzor regions. He said another slaughterhouse may be built in Lori region.
Harutyunyan said that construction of slaughterhouses is part of a program, implemented with the assistance of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Greek government funding.
To date, Armenia has 24 slaughterhouses. Six of them are no longer suitable for use. -0-
