Food prices in Armenia down 1.5% in April

Prices for foods in Armenia went 1.5% down in April 2015, compared with the previous month, the National Statistical Service reports.
YEREVAN, May 8. /ARKA/. Prices for foods in Armenia went 1.5% down in April 2015, compared with the previous month, the National Statistical Service reports.
The decrease was mostly due to a 6.1-3% fall in prices for vegetables, potatoes, fish products, eggs, vegetable oil, adipose and sugar.
Vegetables and potatoes became 6.1% cheaper in April 2015 than in March 2015 and 13.8% cheaper than in April 2014.
Fish products shed 5.3% and 11% respectively and eggs 4.4% and 0.9%.
Vegetable oil and adipose prices dropped 3.7% in April 2015, compared with the previous month, and 0.4%, compared with April 2014.
In April 2015, sugar prices fell 3%, compared with the previous month, but rose 4.5%, compared with the same month a year earlier.
Bread and bakery products slid 0.8%, over one month, but climbed 7.3% over one year, and meat products slipped 0.7%, but rose 6.9% respectively.
Dairy products slid 0.7% in April 2015, compared with March 2015, but climbed 7.8%, compared with April 2014.
Fruit prices in the country leapt 3.3% over one month and 23.7% over one year, and prices for confectionery increased 0.8% and 17.5% respectively.
Consumer prices in Armenia went 0.4% down in April 2015, compared with the previous month, but went 4.8% up, compared with April 2014.
In the government budget for 2015, inflation is projected at 4% (±1.5%), and GDP growth at 4.1%. 0-----
