Food prices in Armenia shed 3.5% in June

YEREVAN, June 30. /ARKA/. Prices for foods in Armenia slipped 3.5% in June 2014, compared with the previous month, mainly due to 33.2% fall in prices for potatoes and vegetables and 11.9% drop in egg prices, the National Statistical Service reports. 

Compared with the same month a year before, prices for potatoes and vegetables sank 13.7% and egg prices went 10.5% down. 

Sugar was 13.1% cheaper in June 2014 than in June 2013, and 1.1% cheaper than in May 2014.

Prices for fish products, coffee and tea slid 0.3-02% in June 2014, compared with the same month a year earlier.  

Prices for fruits shed 2.1% in June 2014, compared with June 2013, but rose 16.2%, compared with May 2014.  

Bread prices showed 0.9% year-on-year rise and 0.6% month-on-month rise in June 2014.

Prices for meat products slid 0.8% in June 2014, compared with the same month a year before, but rose 0.7%, compared with the previous month. 

Consumer prices went 1.8% down in June 2014, compared with May 2014..-0----
