Garegin Melkonyan appointed as first deputy economy minister

YEREVAN, June 10. / ARKA /. Armenian prime minister Hovik Abrahamyan has appointed today Garegin Melkonyan as first deputy minister of economy. He is replacing Karine Minasyan, who was relieved of her post on June 4 and appointed as a presidential adviser.

Garegin Melkonyan was born in 1975 in Yerevan. In 1997 he graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Yerevan State University. From 1997 to 2002 he held various positions in the ministry of industry and trade.

In 2005-2011 he served as Armenia trade representative in the EU. In 2011-2014 he served as deputy minister of economy. -0-
