Gazprom and Armenia discuss gas pricing and other issues

YEREVAN, June 29. /ARKA/. Russian Gazprom CEO and Armenian energy and natural resources minister Armen Movsisyan met Friday in Moscow and discussed pricing of Russian gas supplies to Armenia and ways to increase its delivery in 2012-2013, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the Russian company.

The two men were said to have discussed also a set of issues on bilateral cooperation in the gas sector, including the implementation of the agreement on the participation of Gazprom in gas and energy projects in Armenia.

It was agreed that the commissioning of the fifth unit of Hrazdan TPP helps meet the growing demand for electricity in Armenia and neighboring countries.

Last year Gazprom supplied to consumers in Armenia about 1.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

ArmRosGazprom (ARG), Armenia's national gas distribution company is the only company dealing with import and distribution of Russian
natural gas coming to Armenia from Russia via Georgia. It was established in 1997. Russian Gazprom holds more than 80 percent in it, the rest is owned by Armenian government. -0-
