Gazprom to develop gas master plan for Armenia
YEREVAN, February 27. /ARKA/. Gazprom will elaborate a gas installation and supply master plan for Armenia, Prime reported referring to Russian the gas holding.

Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan and head of Gazprom Aleksey Miller discussed key issues of cooperation in energy sector in Yerevan Wednesday. Special focus was placed on operation prospects for Gazprom Armenia cjsc, an affiliate of the Russian gas giant.

Miller and Sargsyan agreed to jointly develop a gas master plan for Armenia, according to the report.

Miller met with the staff of Gazprom Armenia and discussed integration of the Armenian affiliate in the holding.

Armenia’s energy sector is dependent on gas imports. Gazprom Export delivers the gas to the border where it is bought and then distributed by Gazprom Armenia cjsc. In 2013 Gazprom Group supplied a total of 1.96 billion cubic meters of gas to Armenia.

In December 2013, Gazprom signed a contract with Gazprom Armenia on natural gas supplies to the country in 2014-2018. According to it, Gazprom will deliver up to 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas every year. The gas price will be determined by a formula linked to the Russian gas pricing scheme. –0—
