IFAD delegation to visit Armenia in autumn

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met today with Henning Pedersen, the coordinator of Armenian projects of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) who said an IFAD delegation will make a visit to Armenia in 2012 autumn 2012.
YEREVAN, May 23. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met today with Henning Pedersen, the coordinator of Armenian projects of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) who said an IFAD delegation will make a visit to Armenia in 2012 autumn 2012.
Mr. Pedersen who has completed his mission here said IFAD officials will discuss new investment projects with Armenian authorities. He then commended the Armenian government for its support to implementation of IFAD-funded projects.
Sargsyan was quoted by government press office as saying that the long-term cooperation between Armenia and IFAD yielded good results.
"We greatly appreciate your personal contribution to the implementation of these projects," he said adding that he was glad that cooperation with IFAD will continue.
Sargsyan handed him a letter of gratitude on behalf of the government for 15 years of fruitful cooperation with IFAD in the development of rural areas of Armenia, successful management of six projects, application of new approaches to rural as well as for his high personal and professional qualities.
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a specialized UN agency. Since its inception 30 years ago, the fund has provided $10 billion in the form of soft loans and grants to finance more than 700 programs and projects to help 300 million poor villagers around the world. -0-
