IMF projection – 5% GDP growth and 4% inflation in Armenia in 2017-2018
YEREVAN, April 2. /ARKA/. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is projecting a 5% economy growth and 4% inflation in Armenia in 2017-2018, says IMF’s report on Armenia for the new Extended Fund Facility program.
IMF’s Executive Board approved the agreement with the country for 81.21 million SDR ($127.6mln or 89.4% of Armenia’s quota) under the 38-month EFF program on March 7.
According to IMF’s projections, Armenia will post a 4.3% GDP growth and 5% inflation in 2014; GDP growth is expected at 4.5% in 2015 and 4.7% in 2016. Inflation is projected at 4% for 2015-2016.
Growth in 2014 is expected against the background of more favorable fiscal and monetary-credit policy and improved external conditions. Inflation is likely to reach 4% by the end of 2014, despite increasing economic growth, according to the report.
According to Armenia’s government budget for 2014, GDP growth is 5.2% and inflation is 4% (±1.5%). -0-
