Investors to Armenian economy to benefit from 700 million-market of EU and CU – president
YEREVAN, May 13. /ARKA/. Companies investing in Armenian economy will take the advantage of a 700 million-market of the European Union and the Customs Union, Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan said on Monday.
This will be facilitated by Armenia’s membership in the CU and the current general GSP+ agreement with EU countries, Sargsyan said.
Armenia’s accession to the CU and the Eurasian Economic Union provides exclusive opportunities to European investors for entering the Eurasian market through the easiest way possible – through Armenia which has market liberality and market regulations that are most similar to the European ones in the CIS, the president said. This is proved also by the country’s ratings and indices from prestigious international organizations. For instance, Armenia was the 37th, next to France, in Doing Business 2014.
The president also stressed Armenia’s accession to the CU will, in no way, reduce the economic importance of the EU to Armenia. –0--
