STEPANAKERT, July 14. /ARKA/. Incumbent President of Nagorno Karabakh Republic, Presidential Candidate Bako Sahakyan today had a pre-election meeting with the members of Ministry of Economic Development, State Tax System, Union of entrepreneurs, SME and banks.
At the meeting he said the republic intends to ensure 9-11% GDP real growth within the next five years.
Presidential elections in Karabakh will be held on July 19
He noted the authorities will continue focusing on improving life conditions for the population and ensuring stable development in their economic policy. Sahakyan also attached great importance to the role of business environment in the country’s development process.
Healthy and active business enables the State to provide the population with jobs, high incomes, budget earnings as well as to implement social, cultural and other state programs, according to the President.
Sahakyan also mentioned measures directed to attracting investments to the country and underscored the importance of developing agricultural, mining, information and other industries as well as prioritized the formation of professional staffs at workplaces.
According to the National Statistical Service of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, the GDP in 2011 amounted 9.1 %.
The current election campaign in Nagorno-Karabakh Republic will end on July 17. The following candidates are running for presidency: NKR National Assembly Deputy, Former Minister of Defense Vitaly Balasanyan, incumbent President of the Republic Bako Sahakyan and Prorector of Research Department at Stepanakert Branch of Armenian State Agrarian University Arkady Soghomonyan.—0--
