Karabakh starts supplying coal to Armenia
YEREVAN, October 23. /ARKA/. The coal from Magavuz field of Martakert region of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) is being already supplied to Armenia, the press service of Armenian President reported.
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and the President of NKR Bako Sahakyan visited the coalfield Monday.
The coal supplies are to enable power production at Yerevan Heat Power Plant using water-coal fuel through modernization and maintenance of an old power unit, says the report.
The poress service stressed the importance of the investment project for energy and mining industries. The project will promote the economy and increase Armenian energy security.
The presidents were informed that a coal preparation factory is current under construction at the coal field. –
