Low-energy street lights being installed in several Armenian cities

“Green” outdoor lighting program is being implemented in a number of cities in Armenia, deputy minister of environment Simon Papyan said on Monday at a conference on capacity building in town planning, housing, energy efficiency and disaster risk reduction.
YEREVAN, October 13. /ARKA/. “Green” outdoor lighting program is being implemented in a number of cities in Armenia, deputy minister of environment Simon Papyan said on Monday at a conference on capacity building in town planning, housing, energy efficiency and disaster risk reduction.
The program started this year, and energy efficient lights are currently being installed in the streets in these towns, Papyan said.
The ministry pays special attention to renewable energy sources and energy efficiency, he said.
The deputy minister said Yerevan street lights problem is on the agenda today.
A program to increase energy efficiency in the capital and in Goris is currently under way, Papyan said. –0--
