YEREVAN, February 17./ARKA/. Armenia will benefit from its Customs Union membership if other member countries are interested in that, Vardan Ayvazyan, an MP from the Republican Party of Armenia, said Monday at a news conference.
«There is one very important thing that we have to do along with other political parties – to create integrated infrastructures in Armenia to make it attractive to other Customs Union countries,» he said.
In his opinion, this problem should be solved right now, during the negotiation.
Ayvazyan thinks that Armenia's attractiveness at the Customs Union market will allow it to serve as southern gate in the Customs Union.
As a whole, this membership will give a number of advantages to Armenia, particularly the opportunity for speeding up its economic development and integration in this market.
On February 3 the Armenian government made public a “roadmap” to Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union. The 249-page document posted on the government’s website lists 262 administrative and legislative actions concerning 20 areas of government policy. -0----
