YEREVAN, December 16. / ARKA /. The New Year festivities are very likely to push the prices of some foodstuff up by about 8-10 percent, Armen Poghosyan, head of a consumer watchdog, warned today.
Speaking at a news conference he said this has become a New Year trend. According to him, last year the prices rose by about 12 %.
Specifically, he said the prices of fish, fruits, different kinds of nuts, and greens will definitely rise.
According to the National Statistical Service, food prices in Armenia in November 2013 rose by 1.8 % from the previous month, pushed up by a hike in prices of fish and vegetables which rose by 3.3% -22% . -0-
