No barriers anymore for third power transmission line Armenia-Iran construction- Iran’s Energy Ministry
YEREVAN, October 25. /ARKA/. Energy Minister of Iran, co-chair of the Armenian-Iranian intergovernmental commission Majid Namjou said all the barriers preventing construction of the third high-voltage power transmission line Armenia-Iran had been already removed.
“Problems and barriers are removed, and that is why, the Iranian contract company should make maximum efforts to launch constructing this line,” Mr Namjou said following signing memorandum on mutual understanding at commission meeting in Yerevan.
On his side, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Armenia, Armenian co-chair of the commission, Armen Movsisyan noted after Mr. Namjou had taken over, the implementation of the programs got new impetus.
Sanir Iranian company is said to be responsible for the construction of the power transmission line. The total estimated cost of the project is 100-105 million euros.
At present, there are two high-voltage transmission lines between Armenia and Iran, which ensure seasonal interflow of electricity with a zero balance. -0-
