No considerable changes in prices in Armenia ahead of New Year holidays

YEREVAN, December 25. /ARKA/. No considerable changes in prices for goods of social significance were seen in Armenia ahead of New Year holidays, Artak Shaboyan, chairman of the State Commission for Protection of Economic Competition, told journalists on Tuesday.

“We have not noticed any sharp change in prices,” he said adding that he meant 28 trade markets monitored by the commission.
Shaboyan said the commission recorded slight changes in prices for dairy products, and the commission’s specialists have already started scrutinizing the dairy market.

He also said that a slight price rise was seen at the egg market - prices for eggs rose by two or three drams.

Instead, some kinds of commodities, including olives, sugar and peas became cheaper.

He said that six or seven large supermarkets – Yerevan City, SAS and Star - which dominated the market are under scrutiny now. -0-
