Non-primary goods make 16% of mutual trade of EEU members

The volume of non-primary goods in the mutual trade of the countries, which are members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) is only 6%, the honorary chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council held today via video conference.

The volume of non-primary goods in the mutual trade of the countries, which are members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) is only 6%, the honorary chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council held today via video conference.
"We need to accelerate the pace of integration of the industrial potentials of our countries. Today, the volume of non-primary goods in the mutual trade of our countries is only 16% - this is very little," Nazarbayev said.
He explained that the growth will provide a wide range of competitive advantages, including for the resource base of the EEU member countries. Nazarbayev also announced the need to attract and localize large-scale elements of the value added chains of the future, which are shifted from Southeast Asia and other regions.
The EEU includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. Observer status has been granted to Moldova, as well as Uzbekistan and Cuba. --0--
