YEREVAN, December 13. /ARKA/. Over thirty Armenian and international companies presented their vacancies for the disabled at a job fair held by Unison non-governmental organizations and the state employment service Thursday.
Head of Unison Armen Alaverdyan expressed hopes these job offers will trigger further employment of the disabled.
Fair participant companies were mainly representing the fields of communications, pharmaceuticals, industry, banking system. There have been also international organizations and recruiting agencies among them.
The disabled had a chance to meet and talk with potential employers and fill in resumes.
Head of the state employment agency Artak Mangasaryan welcomed the participants and said the fair proved to be an effective format for those seeking jobs.
“I wish you all to find a convenient job and would like to inform you the agency as well is implementing a number of projects specially for the disabled”, Mangasaryan said urging people with disabilities to get registered in their territorial centers to find a job.
The event was held in the framework of USAID LIFE project implemented by Save the Children.
Apart from the fair, the organizations are implementing a number of projects to help people with disabilities find jobs, and 200 people have been already employed.
There are 192,478 people with disabilities registered in Armenia, according to ArmStat. –0--
