YEREVAN, December 27. /ARKA/. Armenia will accomplish in building its statehood, if favorable environment for development of small and mid-scale entrepreneurship is created here, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said today in a televised live news conference.
«If we fail to solve this problem, we'll jeopardize our country's future,» he said.
Sargsyan said it is necessary to tighten grip upon monopolies and oligopolies.
«If within five years we fail to put significant changes on record, we will think we have major faults,»
The World Bank said in its November report on Armenia that monopolies and oligopolies have captured 60% of Armenian market.
According to the Armenian economy ministry, small and medium businesses' share in GDP was 43% in 2012, just as in 2011. -0---
