YEREVAN, June 2. / ARKA /. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met today with the country’s top diplomats and heads of diplomatic missions abroad, saying they need to step up their efforts to help boost the country’s economy.
The president was quoted by his press office as saying that in order to attract fresh foreign investment in the country the diplomats abroad need to properly present the advantages of investing in Armenia in the context of its impending membership in the Eurasian Economic Union.
Sargsyan also spoke on regional issues, including Armenia’s relations with Turkey and the process of Armenia's accession to the Customs Union.
The president also highlighted the support of Armenia to large Armenian community in Syria that is experiencing all the threats and consequences of the Syrian crisis. In this context he underlined the work of the embassy and the consulate general of Armenia in Syria.
Sargsyan attached also importance to Armenia’s interaction with the European Union and deepening and strengthening of bilateral cooperation with European countries. -0 -
