YEREVAN, August 13. /ARKA/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has informed his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev about the results of his Sunday’s meeting with Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents, Serzh Sargsyan and Ilkham Aliev, RIA Novosti reported referring to Akorda (the Kazakh president’s residence).
Putin was quoted by the news agency as saying in his phone conversation with Nazarbaev that the sides had discussed difficulties and made their stances on Karabakh problem closer to each other.
Putin and Nazarbayev also confirmed the intention to organize a meeting between the leaders of Customs Union member countries and Ukraine in the second half of August on Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s initiative.
In their phone talk, the two presidents discussed western countries’ sanctions against Russia and Russia’s return actions and their likely consequences.
They also exchanged opinions on developments in the south-eastern Ukraine. Some issues related to Kazakhstan-Russia cooperation were discussed as well. --0----
