Results of independent audit of Armenia’s 800 largest companies to be unveiled soon
YEREVAN, January 31. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan instructed today Finance Minister Vache Gabrielyan to post the results of independent audit of some 800 largest Armenian taxpayers on a special website.
Speaking today at a regular Cabinet meeting, he reminded the meeting participants that three years ago the government approved a law under which large companies ought to undergo audit.
“Results of the independent audit of 800 companies are already summarized,” he said.
The premier said auditors have noticed grave faults in some companies, and the government will tighten grip upon them.
He stressed the importance of transparency of the government and tax agencies’ activities.
Sargsyan also said that Armenia had upgraded its press freedom index by three notches in Reporters without Borders organization’s ranking, moving from the 114th rank to 74th and winning leadership among CIS countries here. -0-
