YEREVAN, December 17. / ARKA /. Russia will set quotas for duty-free exports of gas and oil products to Armenia, Armenian energy and natural resources minister Armen Movsisyan said at parliamentary hearings on Tuesday.
According to him, the quotas will be decided before the start of each calendar year. He said as for rough diamonds the quotas will be replaced by contracts with Armenian diamond cutting companies.
Presenting an agreement on cooperation between Armenian and Russian governments in the field of exports of gas, oil and rough diamonds to Armenia the minister noted that the agreement provides for sanctions on Armenia if these duty free goods are re-exported to third countries.
The agreement on abolition of export duties on gas, petroleum products and raw diamonds to Armenia was signed in Yerevan on December 2 after talks between Armenian and Russian presidents. -0-
