Russian gas deliveries to Armenia grew by 22 percent last year
YEREVAN, January 21. / ARKA /. Russian natural gas supplies to Armenia last year surged by 22.3 percent to 1. 967.2 billion Cubic meters, up from 1. 609.1 billion Cubic meters in 2011, the press service of ArmRosGazprom (ARG), Armenia’s Russian-controlled national operator said.
ArmRosgasprom’s sales increased by almost 5 percent from 2011 to 1.609 billion cubic meters.
Compared to 2011 consumption of natural gas by energy sector grew by 23.7% and by 2 percent by the industry reaching 231.9 million and 254.7 million cubic meters respectively. Liquefied natural gas stations’ consumption grew by 15.4% to 418 million cubic meters.
Household gas consumption dropped by 1.6% to 542 million cubic meters while consumption by others fell by 12.1% -162.4 million cubic meters.
ARG is the sole gas supplier to Armenia. Russian Gazprom owns 80% in it, the rest is held by the Armenian government. -0-
