YEREVAN, September 11. / ARKA /. The Russian State Duma (lower house of parliament) will consider subsidizing the price of natural gas shipped to Armenia, energy and natural resources minister Armen Movsisyan told a Q&A parliament session today. The current price is $189, plus a 30 % customs fee, bringing it up to $ 270.
According to the minister, the talks with the Russian side on subsidizing the gas price continued until the political decision on Armenia's entry into the Customs Union. He said now this issue will be resolved within the framework of this process.
"Armenia’s accession will take time. But before that happens, the State Duma will pass a special legislation to cut the price of gas for Armenia by 30% ," Movsisyan said.
Earlier this week Yevgeny Vinokurov from the Eurasian Development Bank told ARKA that Armenia's formal accession to the Customs Union and Common Economic Space Russia will r reduce the price of gas by 30%. - 0 -
