The Second Armenian-Russian Interregional Forum will be held in 2012, Armenian territorial administration ministry’s press office told Novosti-Armenia News Agency on Tuesday after Armen Gevorgyan, Armenian territorial administration minister, met his Russian counterpart, Viktor Basargin, in Moscow.

Second Armenian-Russian Interregional Forum to be held in 2012

YEREVAN, March 21. /ARKA/. The Second Armenian-Russian Interregional Forum will be held in 2012, Armenian territorial administration ministry’s press office told Novosti-Armenia News Agency on Tuesday after Armen Gevorgyan, Armenian territorial administration minister, met his Russian counterpart, Viktor Basargin, in Moscow. No exact date is set yet.

The forum will help the two countries’ appropriate organizations and companies establish new ties. 

A round-table discussion will be held for provincial officials in charge of foreign economic relations before the event to give them time for preparing proposals. 

Gevorgyan and Basargin also gave a high mark to the results of the first meeting of the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental commission’s interregional cooperation group. The group members met on March 13 in Gyumri, the second largest city of Armenia. 

Taking into account the wide range of the focuses of the group’s activity, the Russian and Armenian ministers found it wrong to hold only one session a year. 

The also stressed the importance of timely implementation of the arrangements reached as part of regional cooperation. 

Yerevan hosted the First Russian-Armenia Interregional Forum on April 18, 2011. More than 500 representatives of the two countries attended the event. -0-
