YEREVAN, October 28. / ARKA /. The Armenian Development Agency (ADA) said it will hold the Magic of Armenian Grape event as part of Armenia’s winemaking sector development strategy action plan in Strasbourg, France.
The event will be held on October 29th in the Committee of European Council Ministers during Armenia’s chairmanship at the Council. It will be organized jointly with the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Armenia.
The event will feature a presentation and tasting of different products made from grapes, beverages and dishes. And on October 30th there will be tasting and presentation of Armenian wine and brandy at Strasburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The purpose of “Magic of Armenian Grape” event is to present Armenia as a country with old traditions of viticulture and winemaking with its history, grape sorts, industrial technology, and development tendencies.
The purpose of wine and brandy tasting is to present Armenia wine and cognac with its unique taste and features. There will be 11 Armenian companies that will present the selection of the products.
The event is organized by the Armenian Development Agency and financially supported by the Industrial Development Fund in the framework of “Government support to the implementation of export-led industrial policy 2013”.
According to the National Statistical Service, brandy production in the first eight months this year grew by 3.6 percent year-on-year to 11.1 million liters, while production of wine soared by almost 33 percent to 3.5 million liters. -0-
