YEREVAN, October 17. / ARKA /. The Armenian government will provide special certificates to honey producers planning to sell their products to European countries.
It has approved today a list of requirements in relation to the quality of honey to be exported to Europe, as well as a procedure for issuance of appropriate certificates.
In October Armenia has joined the list of countries which re allowed to export honey to the EU.
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the export of honey in 2012 decreased by 73.2% from $110.7 million in 2011 to $29.6 million. According to the Customs Service, exports of natural honey in the first half of 2013 amounted to 2.4 tons worth $24.7 million. -0-
