YEREVAN, April 14. / ARKA /. Tatul Manaseryan, head of Alternative think-tank in Yerevan, praised today the newly appointed prime minister Hovik Abrahamyan as a good manager.
"I had the opportunity to work with him, and I must say that he is consistent and exigent not only to himself, but also to his milieu. I think these qualities are very important for a leader, who should not only develop projects but also press for their implementation," he said.
Asked whether the new prime minister may change the government’s economic policy, Manaseryan said changes depend on several factors, primarily on the personality of the prime minister, who is responsible for the state of the economy.
In this regard, he noted that Abrahamyan has extensive experience of holding top executive positions and he is well familiar with the problems of the country. Manaseryan also added that a change in the economic policy of the government requires a good team of associates.
He said the new government should first of all obtain a popular mandate and direct all the reforms to the benefit of citizens.
Under the Armenian constitution, Abrahamyan has twenty days to form his cabinet and seek a vote of confidence from the National Assembly controlled by the Republican Party of Armenia. -0-
