Unique lab to come online in Armenian State Engineering University early next year: Minister
YEREVAN, October 10. / ARKA /. A unique engineering laboratory worth $6.2 million is likely to come online in the premises of the State Engineering University of Armenia in January or February next year, education and science minister Armen Ashorian said today.
Earlier, Karen Vardanian, head of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE), said the laboratory may come online in the middle of 2013.
"This is an unprecedented investment in the Armenian education. About $ 1.5 million will be provided by the US-based National Instruments, approximately $350,000 will be provided by the government and $650,000 will be allocated by the State Engineering University and the rest of the amount will come from USAID ", he said.
The lab is to be located on 2 thousand square meters and comprise approximately 30 smaller labs that will conduct research in more than 30 directions. -0-
