YEREVAN, October 28. / ARKA /. The Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine in the southern Armenian province of Syunik topped the list of 1000 largest corporate taxpayers in the third quarter of the year, the State Revenue Committee said today. It was said to have paid 26.3 billion Drams in taxes, up from 16.4 billion drams it paid in January -September 2012.
Some 23.9 billion drams of that amount were collected by tax authorities, and about 2.3 billion drams by customs officers. Also 10.5 billion drams were direct taxes, 3.9 billion drams were indirect taxes (including VAT and excise tax), and another 11.9 billion drams were collected as other taxes, duties and obligatory payments.
The second in the list of 1000 largest taxpayers was the national gas distribution company ArmRosGazprom, which paid more than 25.3 billion drams in various taxes, up from 22.6 billion drams paid a year before. Of that amount 25 billion drams were collected by tax authorities and about 289.4 million drams by customs authorities.
The third largest taxpayer was K -Telecom (trading as VivaCell-MTS). It paid more than 22.3 billion drams in taxes, up from 13.3 billion drams from the year before.
Alex Grig Company paid more than 11.8 billion drams, down from 13.5 billion drams it paid in January -September 2012.
The fifth largest taxpayer was Armenia Telephone Company, trading as Beeline, which paid about 11.5 billion drams in taxes against 9.6 billion drams in the same period of 2012.
Overall, the 1,000 largest corporate taxpayers paid more than 479.9 billion drams in various taxes in the first 9 months of this year, up from 394.9 billion paid in the same period last year. ($ 1 - 405.84 drams). -0-
