Health Ministry and Armenian Psychiatric Association provided 124 injured in Yerevan’s balloon blast with psychological help, the spokesman for Health Ministry Shushan Unanyan reported ARKA on Tuesday.
YEREVAN, May 8. /ARKA/. Health Ministry and Armenian Psychiatric Association provided 124 injured in Yerevan’s balloon blast with psychological help, the spokesman for Health Ministry Shushan Unanyan reported ARKA on Tuesday.
Over 154 people were injured at ruling Republican party’s campaign rally in the Armenian capital Yerevan’s Republic Square in downtown on May 4 , when hundreds of small balloons went up in flames, burning people and sparking panic.
She also said that according to the latest data 75 hurt people are still staying in hospitals, and 15 of them are in resuscitation.
Ununyan also added that there were no requests for plastic surgery from the injured.
“Doctors are responsible for making such decisions, but in any case plastic surgeries will be conducted free of charge with assistance of Health Ministry,” Ununyan clarified.
Physicians assess the condition of the injured as satisfactory.
The law enforcement authorities opened a criminal case referring to the Article 240 of Armenia’s Penal Code ( violating rules of storage, transportation, delivery or use of flammable or combustible materials, as well as illegitimate transportation or delivery of the mentioned materials that caused serious consequences). -0-
