Armenia’s citizens trapped now on Russian-Georgian border because of snowfalls provided with every necessary thing
YEREVAN, December 26. /ARKA/. Armenia’s citizens who are trapped now near Upper Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border in Russia’s territory because of snowfalls are provided with every necessary thing, Armenian emergency ministry’s rescue service reported on Wednesday.
According to the report, at 18:20 on Tuesday calls were received about these people, who are in need of warm clothes and meals.
In a few minutes the service officials came into contact with Armenia’s embassy in Tbilisi. They were told that that the road cleaning will begin on December 26.
Russian emergency ministry’s center said that warm clothes are distributed between the victims of the bad weather.
The Upper Lars checkpoint serves the only direct land transportation link between Armenia and Russia and opens a gateway to other countries. -0-
