Armenia’s presidential candidate on hunger strike has his health deteriorated, but strike continues
YEREVAN, February 6. /ARKA/. Doctor said the state of health of Armenia’s presidential candidate on a hunger strike, Andrias Ghukasyan, had deteriorated, Novosti-Armenia reported.
However, Ghukasyan is adamant on continuing his strike against the warnings of the doctors.
Today Ghukasyan’s blood pressure lowered to 80/60, and the ambulance was called.
“My blood pressure is teetering, so the weather does… I will continue my hunger strike,” he told reporters. At present, a group of doctors are keeping an eye on the candidate.
Ambulance representative Kamsar Badikian told the reporters that he recommended to Ghukasyan to apply for hospital treatment as his state of health may get even worse.
Head of “Radio Hay” Andrias Ghukasyan has been on a hunger strike since January 21. He claims the presidential elections are illegitimate as the ruling Republican Party used its administrative resources for the canvass. The goal of the hunger strike is to stimulate the civil activity around holding fair elections. -0-
