Armenian police confirms two protesters against gas agreements with Russia detained

YEREVAN, December 20. /ARKA/. Armenia’s police confirm two activists of the protests against ratification of gas agreements with Russia held Friday near the parliament building are detained.

Yet, the police refute allegations about detention of dozens of activists. The only detainees are Vardges Gaspari and Anton Ivchenko and formal notes of administrative offence have been prepared as per the required procedure, according to the report.

Today Armenian parliament started discussing Armenia-Russia agreements about duty-free supplies of natural gas, oil products and raw diamonds, as well as about gas pricing and transfer of 20% of ArmRosgasprom’s shares to the Russian side.

Several dozens of activities were rallying near the parliament house and attempted to block the traffic on Baghramyan Avenue chanting “Sovereign Armenia”. The police barred protesters’ way to the roadway.  –0—
