YEREVAN, February 5. /ARKA/. Armenia’s national security agency has opened criminal proceedings against Khachik Martirosyan, a former police officer, the agency’s press office reported on Wednesday.
Martirosyan, 60, was arrested on January 31 on charge of treason. The national security agency possesses irrefutable evidence showing that the former police officer was seeking contacts with Azerbaijani and Georgian embassies, established ties with Azerbaijani special service officers acting under cover of the embassy and accepted their offer to spy against own country and то provide military information to them.
Martirosyan has taken particular steps, but his attempt to give the obtained information to Azerbaijanis has been foiled by Armenian national security officers. The investigation is under way now. -0---
