Five wounded in skirmish in downtown Yerevan, criminal proceedings instituted
YEREVAN, May 19. /ARKA/. Five people were wounded in shooting in the center of Yerevan Saturday, near the famous Vernissage, the open-air market of souvenirs and artwork, Novosti-Armenia reported referring to the police. The wounded were hospitalized.
According to some sources, the wounded people were passersby. Eyewitnesses say the shooting started after a quarrel.
Criminal proceedings were instituted on two penal code charges, illegal purchase and use of firearms and hooliganism leading to health damage, head of the first investigative department of Kentron district police Edgar Aghayan said.
